Martin Vidović was born on the 15th of July 1953 in Vidonia, the region Dubovnik-Neretva in Croatia. On the 28th of May 1989 he took the sacrament of priesthood, then he was sent to the diocese of Split-Makar.
He defended the licentiate in Catholic Right.
From 1983 to 1994 he was the editor of the Croatian program Vatican Radio.
On the 19th of September 1994 he took service with the Saint Throne in the section of common affairs of the State Secretariat.
From 1994 to 1999 he was the secretary of the apostolic nuncio in Bosnia und Herzegovina, and from 2001 he is also a member of the Ministerial Council “Peregrinatio ad Petri Sedem” (Pilgrimage to the throne of Saint Peter).
On the 15th of September 2004 the Holy Father appointed as apostolic nuncio in Belarus Monsignor Martin Vidović, the official of the State Secretariat, at the same time he raised him to the titular post of Nona as archbishop.
On the 21st of November 2004 Martin Vidović was consecrated bishop.
He can speak Italian, Russian, French, Spanish and German.
