Parishioners of Vilejka were preparing to the solemnity during three days through forty-hour prayers that were finished by the Holy Mass on September 14. There were a lot of guests and numerous priests of different deaneries at the celebration.

At the beginning the chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which is situated near the church, was sanctified. The chapel was built after the church had been returned to Catholics in 1992, but the building was not finished. The further works were made by the parishioners themselves this year in summer. After the sanctification F. Alaksandr Baryla devoted in prayer the whole parish to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. After the Holy Mass celebrated by F. Edmund Daugilovich there took place the Eucharist procession.

During the celebration of the Holy Mass the youth choir was singing. In order to glorify God also through singing there has been recently published a songbook of the parish Praise God Together with Angels.

F. Alaksandr Baryla finished the seminary in 1998. In 2000 he was ordained priest and worked in Minsk archcathedral. Since April 2003 he has been working in Vilejka.

Since August 2003 sisters of the Community of Sisters of Angels have been working there as well.
