On the 9th of May at 11 p.m. father canon Vladislav Pyatraytsis, the priest of the Vitebsk diocese, passed away.
Being interviewed by the portal catholic.by the newly appointed bishop of Pinsk diocese Antonyi Dzemyanko marked: “In answer to trust of Most Holy Father concerning my appointment to Pinsk diocese I want to express my respect to Him, my devotion of the son, and I promise to serve God and Catholic Church reliably, as well as all believers from Pinsk diocese and anyone who seeks for God”.
Diocese Mother Day is celebrated already for several years on the first Sunday of May in Grodno diocese. Main celebrations take place in Koptyovka where people pray for all mothers, both dead and alive. Two years ago the church in Koptyovka was given the status of the Sanctuary of Czestochowa Mother of God via the decree of bishop Aleksander Kaszkiewicz.
